Hugo Chandler has worked worldwide in renewables for 18 years. He led the grid integration of renewables programme at the International Energy Agency (IEA), publishing its first book on the subject in 2009; and was the agency’s lead on wind energy. Prior to that, Hugo established the European Technology Platform for Wind Energy at the European Wind Energy Association in Brussels, where he worked with many of the originators of the modern wind industry. Hugo has an MSc in energy technology from Imperial College. He co-founded New Resource Partners in 2012.
Nick Gibbins has worked in government and the private sector since 2000. Prior to co-founding NRP in 2012, Nick was part of Jones Lang LaSalle’s European sustainability consultancy, leading projects advising global investors on energy efficiency and renewable energy. He has held various positions in UK government involving the development and implementation of environmental policy, embedding sustainability into the lending strategies of EU public banks, and advising on the incorporation of renewable energy into urban master plans. Nick has an MSc in International Relations and Development from the University of London.
Virginia is responsible for seeking out new renewable and smart energy investment and project development opportunities UK-wide. Previously at CBRE, Virginia was responsible for funding property projects with specialism in tax-driven regeneration initiatives, and has wide-ranging experience across all commercial property sectors. Virginia divides her time between London and NRP’s Scottish office. Virginia is also CEO of Regent Capital PLC, where her role involves sourcing funding streams for and creating property investment opportunities, as well as maintaining an overview of Regent Capital’s extensive UK wide portfolio of property investments.
Abraham joined New Resource Partners in July 2018 after 10 years at Bloomberg New Energy Finance, where he led a data research team and the deployment of data technologies and methods to increase coverage and quality of clean and conventional energy investment data. Previously he worked in chemical process engineering in the oil and gas sector in South Africa and the Middle East. Abraham holds an MSc in Chemical Process Design from the University of Twente in The Netherlands, and a Graduate Diploma in Finance from the London School of Economics.

Justin Morshead is an entrepreneur and investor with 30 years experience sharpening strategy to the point where projects and services meet the needs of clients. Justin’s background across varied technology sectors enables NRP to benefit from techniques developed outside the energy bubble, bringing additional originality to our offer. He drives the development of NRP’s data acquisition strategy, modeling and software development activities. Justin operates between London, Swindon, and Frankfurt. He also works on a number of projects including as Advisor to Donnelly Spire and as a Non-Executive Director at Pharos Data.
Simon has over 25 years experience across the renewable energy, clean tech, environmental and property sectors in Europe and the USA. He has led businesses across solar, wind, biomass, hydro and grid services for private client offices, Tamar Energy, Savills Energy and the World Bank. Simon supports clients at a strategic board level with a keen interest in the disruptive challenges presented by the shift underway to distributed low carbon energy generation. Simon holds a BA from Dartmouth College, USA, and an MSc in Environmental Resource Management from Kings College, London.
John brings expertise in sustainable infrastructure investment, including in emerging economies, from more than 20 years in venture capital, private equity and investment banking, with strong experience in the development of innovative climate finance products. John has been instrumental in creating a number of self-financing project development platforms including the 1GW West and Central African Renewable Energy Initiative, with corporations and investors. He is also Chief Investment Officer of R20, working to deliver bankable green infrastructure projects to investors. John has a BA (Hons), MA and MBA from Cambridge University.
