Challenge

The proliferation of local energy assets such as solar PV and electric vehicle infrastructure raises new challenges, many of which can be addressed through the development of local energy markets. These markets will involve a many stakeholders at least as diverse as those involved at the national level, as well as important new challenges relating to the acquisition, curation and sharing of energy prosumers’ energy data.

Services provided

New Resource Partners designed and hosted workshops to convene local energy market innovators, developers and data specialists, to explore alternative data architectures, and to explore opportunities for the joint creation of local energy market demonstration projects across the UK.

Outcome

NRP has developed two collaborations among design projects, both now under development, with a view to creating new projects to demonstrate the benefits of local energy markets to energy prosumers.
